Today, a government delegation visited our MMH Kibisi Gardens in our farmer communities in Bungoma county, where also one of our MMH centers is located.
The delegation was led by the Deputy County Commissioner in charge of Tongaren subcounty.

“We had over 15 chiefs in attendance and the new Member of County Assembly. We shared the MMH activities in the area and they were very appreciative of the great input to the community. The Commissioner left with a big ‘thank you’ to MMH for the great support in empowering the Mbakalo community and hopes some of the initiatives (trainings) can be scaled to more wards in the area,“ shared our local leader Cleophas from Core Health and Wealth NGO.

With the work in Tongaren as in all the other eight locations across Kenya where we are active we focus on the empowerment of people, on a the creation of a positive open minded movement among the farmer families, sharing structures of systemic change led by our local partners and owned by the communities themselves.

Some of the local community members now meet regularly to sing together and have now also had a first opportunity to present the choir during the official ceremony. This creates a lot of pride and self confidence among all people – another two important “ingredients” which besides better farming, digital and basic business skills and more health awareness make a huge difference!
