A trainings center based on care and love

Our communities care about the MMH center

It’s nearly a year now that- under the umbrella of the Making More Health initiative – the first constructions for the MMH center have started.

A training hall, a production room, first sanitation facilities are in place. Actually, together with the local communities and our local NGO partner we finalize the furnishing and prepare the training hall in a way that also virtual training sessions can take place soon.

Our communities of farmers, women and people with albinism are already looking forward to additional trainings on health, basic business skills and digital knowledge. These trainings will be offered soon and complete the ongoing hygiene trainings and albinism awareness programs.

In the next months more infrastructural developments are planned. However, there is one particular element that make a huge difference right from the beginning:

When a trainings center becomes a home

This MMH center that we run together with our local NGO partner GAASP is a special one. Not because of the way how it is constructed, not because of some fancy tools or furnitures, not because of the space or any particular elements.

But because of the people on the ground, because of our communities who come here every day to stay together, to produce soap for others, to learn and share the learning with others, to feel safe and to celebrate. They dedicate a lot of time to decorate “their house” with pride and joy. Some first gardening, some nice paintings, some small things that do not require money, but love.

Trust, confidence, dedication and passion – these are the elements that make the MMH house particular. For the communities, for all who join and participate in so many offers and activities – and for our Making More Health initiative. Although it’s difficult to express this “feeling” in facts and figures, or in measurable units this might be one of the biggest differentiators we are all proud of. In all activities now and in future.
