Systemic change begins with children. Every child deserves real attention, acceptance, and support — especially those facing tougher starts in life. Investing in early childhood development is not just a social imperative; it is a long-term investment in thriving communities.
This is why we at SCN Kenya are proud to highlight the collaboration and work of NestingPlay, a social enterprise that brings creativity and play into children’s lives in ways that nurture social skills, build confidence, and strengthen bonds. Through simple yet powerful activities, children are given the space to grow, connect, and thrive — creating the foundation for resilient communities.

A holistic approach to learning and health
NestingPlay has introduced playful approaches to health and nutrition into our network of seven local NGOs – in Central and Western Kenya. From fun food games to hands-on activities that teach balanced diets, children are learning not just how to play, but also how to make healthy choices that will shape their futures.
“Seeing children engage with food and health in a fun way changes not just their behavior, but the whole community culture around nutrition,” notes a program facilitator.

Scaling impact across regions
What makes this initiative especially compelling for partners and investors is its scalability and replicability. These activities are already reaching children at SCN partner centers in Eldoret and Tongaren, demonstrating how collaborative action can spread measurable impact across multiple regions.
This model shows that investments in creative, community-rooted initiatives can deliver sustainable, systemic results. By combining creativity, health, and learning, partners can contribute to a long-term ripple effect that strengthens children, families, and entire communities.
Why partner with SCN Kenya
When social enterprises, research institutions, and local communities come together, new possibilities emerge. NestingPlay demonstrates that play can be more than fun — it can be a tool for inclusion, health, and empowerment.
By supporting initiatives like this, partners can:
- Drive measurable social impact in early childhood development and nutrition
- Scale innovative approaches across multiple centers and communities
- Engage in long-term, systemic change rather than one-off projects
- Strengthen their corporate social responsibility and visibility in high-impact programs
At SCN Kenya, we are proud to walk alongside partners like NestingPlay in shaping safe, playful, and resilient spaces for children — and in turn, building stronger, more connected communities.
Invest in play. Invest in children. Invest in systemic change.
