Looking for interesting investment opportunities? Our system changer network partners from Kenya get 1st international recognition

Recently, one of our System Changer Network Kenya (SCN Kenya) partners, VICCO, an organization active in Nairobi’s slum areas, was featured in a citizen network newspaper in Finland advocating for community free spaces.

This is great and an opportunity to connect more with Media in and out of the country as a SCN member Kenya and to share about the innovative approaches we are taking.

What is the SCN Kenya?

It is a “network of trust” with an ambitious vision: we believe that together we can achieve more than what single NGOs or organizations can achieve to combat poverty. Simply, because the basic needs, such as water, energy, health, mobility, business and digital skills, infrastructures, education, environmental issues can not be handled by one player alone. But projects-as mostly done – today, have one focus and target group only. We believe you can’t just run women projects without doing also projects for men, nutrition projects are not good enough if in parallel also water issues are covered, education needs to include also good business and digital knowledge, health programs are not successful if people can’t pay the bus ticket to reach out to a healthcare professional, good farming practices are not very profitable if there are not good storages and transport means in harvesting times. Income, education, health, mobility, education have to be seen as a whole.

That’s why we have built strategic structures of exchange of skills and solutions, collaborate with innovate ideas of social enterprises from all over the world, are organized in a manageable (not too big) network of 9 Kenyan NGO partners, and put together our diverse approaches. Simply, because a farmer or slum habitant is not just a farmer or slum habitant, but needs also to cover many other basic needs (depending on the age, roles, environment, health status and other local conditions) to have a real chance to grow.

In this way, we save resources while multiplying the impact

We invest in connecting with global networks from Business, Academia and governments, welcome visits to experience before they invest and give an understand how this approach makes a huge difference we measure the network collaboration, not just single projects. Did you know that in 2023 we run 198 different activities?
