After launching an own center in 2023 for fisher communities who live at the poverty line investing in more health, income generation activities, education and environment , now the next steps are happening.
Close to Homabay in the next weeks a new building with 4 classrooms will be finalized: tailoring, beauty, soap and detergent production and paper making courses will help community members to produce those items not just for their own households, but offer also some income opportunities.
The land acquisition and the building have been supported by the Making More Health initiative from Boehringer Ingelheim.
As Wa-Wa ist a partner of the System Changer Network Kenya, the training sessions on the activities mentioned above as many other skills and activities happening in the single locations are shared and introduced nearly in all our eight locations / centers now.
