Every Bag Tells a Story: How Sustainability Becomes Tangible

Tomorrow marks the start of the Making More Health Together Conference 2025 in Ingelheim, Germany — a global gathering that brings together changemakers, social enterprises, NGOs, and investors from around the world. For several days, participants will exchange ideas, explore new collaborations, and discuss how we can create more sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities.

But this year, sustainability doesn’t only appear on the conference agenda — it’s woven directly into the event itself.

From Conversation to Action

Each conference participant will receive a give-away bag. But these are no ordinary bags.

They were handmade by teenage mothers in Kenya, through our System Changer Network (SCN) partner – Core Health & Wealth International (CHW), an NGO based in Western Kenya.

Our NGO leader from Core Health and Wealth is proud of what the teenage mothers have achieved and that their bags are now available at an international conference

CHW supports young women who have faced challenging life situations, offering them practical training, mentorship, and income opportunities. By producing the conference bags, these young mothers not only earn an income but also gain valuable skills in craftsmanship, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.

It’s a simple, beautiful example of how sustainable thinking can start small — yet make a real difference in people’s lives.

Learning, Earning, and Growing

Behind every bag lies a story of courage and new beginnings.

For many of these young women, this project is the first step toward financial independence and self-confidence. It demonstrates how social impact and sustainability can go hand in hand — empowering individuals while contributing to a more equitable global economy.

As part of the System Changer Network Kenya, CHW connects with other NGOs and initiatives working on holistic regional development. Together, they ensure that such local actions are part of a larger movement toward systemic change.

Living Sustainability

We believe that true sustainability is not only about what we discuss — it’s about what we do. From the way we collaborate to the choices we make in planning events, every action can reflect our values.

These bags remind us that change begins when we align purpose with practice.

They are more than a conference give-away — they are a message of dignity, opportunity, and shared responsibility.

💚 Because sustainability means acting, not just talking.
