Kenyans have been given a special holiday to plant 100 million trees in 2023 as part of the government’s goal to plant 15 billion trees in 10 years.
„Each and every Kenyan should own the initiative and is encouraged to plant at least two seedlings“, according to Environment Minister Soipan Tuya.
The target: 100-million trees!
Three days before the event we were actively invited by the deputy county commissioner Edong’a Nanok (DCC) to join a tree planting event in Bungoma county.
It was a big honor to participate actively in this tree planting initiative as the representative of Making More Health Community Activation Lead together with my 20 colleagues who at the moment stay for the MMH Insights week in our MMH Ressort in Webuye.

Under the umbrella of the System Changer network also many MMH partner organizations in Western and Central Kenya became active.

During the visit to one of the orphanages who belong to our partner network I enjoyed planting a tree with the 10 years old Patricia and Bishop Godfrey (Baba Bishop) aside.
That’s a real hands-on mentality.
Patricia will now take care on our tree and I hope that next time when I come for a visit our indigenous tree will be a real beautiful one!

for Kenya and a healthier planet!
