Creating impact with and for students as an element of systemic change in Western Kenya

In Western Kenya we co- create with local Core NGO partners, local government, and local universities. Our Venture4Change program has been started several years ago, a program where students learn and experience “on the ground” social entrepreneurship.

In the upcoming week students groups from 4 local universities shall pitch the solutions the have developed for underserved communities in front of a very diverse and international judging board.

But there is much more beyond:

The involvement of the students and universities in our community activities creates a huge benefit for everyone: the students and universities, the communities and our local partners.

Cleophas Chesoli who is the main local coordinator for the Venture4 Change program and also one of our Core NGO partners in the System changer network Kenya is very active in Tongaren, Bungoma County. We asked him why the Venture4Change program is an essential “ puzzle piece” contributing to our MMH centers and the system change in underserved communities.

Cleophas shares about the importance of involving students in system change and how they contribute to our MMH centers
